This project consists of a series of chapters about telecommunications
in education written by 13 graduate students. The target audience consists
of telecommunications and educational technology professionals and students.
The Online Reader is the product of a class assignment intended to assist
students with their individual telecommunications projects, to guide them
through the content of the course, and to foster skills in writing and
editing documents collaboratively. The students worked collaboratively
in shared workspaces in Basic Support for Cooperative Work (BSCW).
Each chapter raises issues of telecommunications from an educational perspective
and is organized as a compendium of independent learning materials. The
chapters direct learners toward various sources of information about the
particular topics.
Please see the work of Dr. Betty Collis (University of Twente) for the
original conceptualization of the assignment--1994
and 1995
